The tested belts were Brown Belt - 2 Black Stripes (a theme of Kenpo principles applied to weapon offence and defence) and Orange Belt (a theme of grabs, pushes, pulls and dealing with aggression).

Highlights from the Kenpo Grading on 31st August 2012:

 

 

The tested belts were Brown Belt - 1 Black Stripe (focussing restraint holds and ground fighting) and Orange Belt (a theme of grabs, pushes, pulls and dealing with aggression).

KENPO GRADING - FEBRUARY 2012

Some highlights from the Kenpo Grading night of 9th February:

 

 

The tested belts were Green Belt (focussing on environmental considerations, such as walls and multiple opponents) and Brown Belt with 1 Black Stripe (a theme of restraint holds including ground positions).

A NEW BEGINNING

The expansion to a new and larger dojo (martial arts gym) has coincided with the formation of STS Combative Systems - a partnership encompassing The Armoury and Submission Factory.  This allows access to over 20 weekly adult classes including Kenpo, MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu including no-gi submission grappling, fitness clases and most recently, Kickboxing.  A full timetable can be viewed here.  

The new address is Unit 3 / 42 Berriman Drive, Wangara.

The different belt levels of our Kenpo syllabus have separate themes which develop specific skill sets.  For example, Green Belt takes into account environmental considerations while using obstacles such as walls to advantage.  This year, there is now a document that details the path ahead.  The "Roadmap to Yellow Belt" can be viewed here (pdf format).
